Our history
Follow our journey from a small carpentry workshop to a world-leading supplier of accessibility-adapted products.
1870
The story began as early as 1870 when Otto Granberg built his first chairs.
Business went well, and Otto’s carpentry workshop started mass-producing furniture.
The factory soon expanded its range to include windows, doors, and stairs.
1960
Until 1960, Granberg was a carpentry company manufacturing windows, doors, and stairs.
At the request of a Swedish organization, we developed the first test kitchen for people with disabilities.
This kitchen was successful, and we began mass production of assisted kitchens.
1970
In the mid-1970s, sales increased, and the business moved to larger factory premises, making our cabinet manufacturing more efficient.
We developed our first kitchen with motorized, height-adjustable cabinets.
1980
Computerization of offices and production began.
We recieved our first inquiries from outside of Sweden and export sales started to Norway, Finland, and the Netherlands.
1990
The company moved to its current premises, and the production of cabinets ceases.
Manufacturing is now entirely focused on lift systems, lift systems were modified to fit all standard cabinets on the market.
2000
Granberg Germany is founded.
Currently, three people work for the company, with a head office in Bielefeld.
Participation in the ZOW and Interzum trade shows yields results.
The Granberg brand becomes increasingly well-known in the kitchen industry worldwide.
2010
The company celebrated 50 years of kitchen lift systems, design manufacture and production.
We are continously working to raise awarness of adapted kitchens and bathroom solutions at some of the largest trade shows around the world.
2020
The pandemic hits with full force.
We quickly adapted to a new way of working.
Participation in trade shows is halted. We further digitalize our operations.
The website becomes more important than ever, with increasing inquiries from all parts of the world.
